School Tours

Artesia Grammar School Students and Faculty 1892
Determined to make the Frampton/Dantema House and Old Fire Station #30 integral parts of the community. Barbara Frampton Applebury and Veronica Little Bloomfield met with ABC Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Gary Smuts to forge a groundbreaking partnership. Their goal: to develop docent-led school tours for local students, bringing history to life in an educational and interactive way.
Since Fall 2005, over 13,000 third graders have embarked on these enriching field trips, delving into their local heritage in alignment with California State Standards. For classes unable to walk to the museum, the Artesia Historical Society steps in with a Bus Scholarship Fund, to ensure students have the opportunity to explore. Thanks to generous donations, teachers can request bus funds to make these visits possible. You can support this invaluable program and help continue to inspire young minds by donating to the Bus Scholarship Fund.
