Frampton/Dantema House

The Artesia Historical Museum is located in a 1929 residence originally built by Art and Helen Frampton on Pioneer Boulevard. When the property was slated for commercial development in 2002, its second and final owners, Wayne and Maria Dantema, wished to see the house preserved. Instead of demolishing the historic home, developer Ajit Dudheker agreed to allow its relocation.

To preserve the home, the Artesia Historical Society partnered with the City of Artesia. With the help of grant funds from then Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe of the 4th District, the house was carefully relocated to a new site on Alburtis Avenue and 187th Street. Thanks to these collaborative efforts, the Frampton-Dantema House now stands as a beloved museum, a testament to the community’s dedication to preserving its heritage.
